How To Apply Color Atelier Sealer
Color Atelier offer water-based sealer and wax-based sealers. Clear, protective top coats that are suitable for limewash paint, plaster, and tadelakt surfaces; designed to protect, and highlight the surface’s natural appearance, without affecting its color or finish. These sealers give a very low sheen, similar to eggshell, and can be polished to a higher sheen, if desired.
Please note that on darker colors, the sealer can slightly deepen the shade. However, on lighter colors, this enhancement is generally not visible.
For Tadelakt wet areas; select the Wax-sealer.
Simply apply it with a box brush -same brush used for lime paints- in a random or multi-direction method in thin layers, and brush it on section by section, remove any excess by gently back wiping in a circular motion with a lint-free cloth. The Sealer can also be applied using a spray method, however, it is important to ensure that it is spread in a thin layer. Please be sure to test your chosen application method in an inconspicuous area to ensure desired results. One or two coats of sealer are recommended depending on the area. Allow the sealer to dry completely in between coats. NOTE: Allow the final coat of Tadelakt, lime plaster or lime paint surfaces to dry/ cure at least for 2-3 days before applying the sealer on top.
